STL-BIT
Saint Louis Bridge IT Group
The premier IT networking group in St Louis that provides a venue for frank authentic viewpoints and perspectives that cut away the noise and hype that commonly is associated with implementing technologies in business. Founded by a group of individuals that have decades of IT experiences and strong ties to the St Louis area who were looking for a casual relaxed opportunity to say what they really think.
Who are we?
The founding members have known each other for decades with ties to St Louis in a meaningful way. We bring together a wide range of experiences that would challenge the Big six (or 5 now?). Experiences from small, mid range to Fortune 500 - family owned private to public to private equity - local markets to national to global - manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, industrial, consumer products, medical, retail,, non-profit - and technology advances from punch card, mainframe, data center, telecommunications, cyber-security, co-location, cloud - development and package application in multiple platforms SAP, Oracle, JDA, Dynamics, Infor, and others. Quite frankly, one or more of us have experience in pretty much any technology. We are not programmers in the back office, we are IT professionals and leaders who know what it takes for successful technology implementations in the business environment.
St. Louis’ IT network organization for honest IT perspectives. Authentic folks who can see through the hype and confusion. This isn't a group for people who want to network just to network, or flatter to try to make social contacts, it's a group where IT professionals and vendors can meet to honestly and openly discuss what really works, and what doesn't, and what is going on in the industry in St. Louis.
For IT Leaders: We are welcoming new members but selective in qualifying individuals who can join. The purpose is to stay true to our original charter - a casual relaxed opportunity to say what we really think. To join, you must be sponsored by one of the founders. If interested request below to connect with one of us.
For Business Leaders: We welcome non-IT business leaders to join us that want to work with a group that isn’t afraid of sharing impartial perspectives regarding business and IT.
For Technology Vendors: For you, the vetting is much stronger. While you can be invited to join and sponsor us on occasion - be ready for a different format. No formal ‘hype’ presentations, just real experiences that get real perspectives.
Because of our strong ties to St. Louis, these are the rules:
-
Every event will start and finish with beverages (local brews preferred).
-
If a there is a Cardinals or Blues game, it will be on nearby
-
Discussion is open and honest and may not be limited to technology
-
If anything - it will be a good time (see first rule)
